Manage your Slack connection

  • Slack
  • Integrations
  • Alerts

The Slack integration had one control. The Connected button opened a menu with one item, and that item was Disconnect. If an owner changed the name of the workspace in Slack, Parahuman continued to show the old name. If the connection stopped, the only repair was to remove it and start again.

The button now opens three actions.

Disconnect the workspace

This action removes the connection. The dialog tells you the effect before you confirm it.

Parahuman deletes each alert that sends only to Slack. Parahuman also removes the Slack destination from each alert that sends to more than one place. Those alerts continue to send by email.

Refresh the workspace name

Parahuman reads the name of your workspace one time, when you connect it. An owner can change that name in Slack at a later time. This action reads the name again and stores it.

Update the connection

This action starts the Slack authorization again for the same workspace. Use it if the connection stops, or after we ask for a different permission.

Parahuman refuses a different workspace here. Your saved channels and your alert destinations belong to the workspace that you connected. A different workspace makes each of them invalid.

The person who enabled the integration

The name of the person who enabled the integration, and the date, are below the workspace name. The page showed the workspace only.

  • Slack Parahuman signed each request to leave a channel with the bot token of our own workspace. Thus the request was successful only for a customer in that workspace. Every Slack request now uses the token of your own connection
  • Slack Parahuman sends the farewell message to a channel before the bot leaves it. The bot cannot write to a channel that it left
  • Slack A return from Slack now shows you the result. The page showed no message, and it kept the Slack parameters in the address bar

  • Slack Parahuman asks for six permissions, and each one has a request behind it. The four permissions for direct messages are removed, because no request used them
  • Integrations The Connected button keeps its size when you press it

One limit stays. If an owner deletes a channel in Slack, you cannot remove that channel from Parahuman. The farewell message fails, and the channel stays in your list. A correction is in progress.
